Withdrawals from avatrade and etoro: what actually takes how long?

I’m getting closer to picking between these two brokers, but one thing I want to understand is how smoothly I can actually take my money out.

Because it doesn’t matter if a broker saves me 0.5 pips per trade if it takes them two weeks to send me my winnings when I need the cash.

I’ve read a bunch of reviews online but they’re all over the place. Some people say AvaTrade withdrawals take 3 days, others say 10. eToro seems mixed too. I don’t know if people are exaggerating or if withdrawal times are genuinely inconsistent.

So I’m asking the community directly: what’s your actual experience? How long did it take from when you requested the withdrawal until the money hit your bank account? Did it depend on the payment method? Were there any issues or red flags?

I’m also wondering if one broker handles withdrawals more reliably than the other. Like, does AvaTrade process them faster if you use bank transfer vs card? And does eToro have similar variations?

I want to know what I’m actually signing up for.

AvaTrade takes 3 to 5 days. eToro takes 4 to 7 days.

Bank transfers slower than card refunds on both.

I’ve tracked this over multiple withdrawals. AvaTrade typically processes withdrawal requests within 24 hours, then it depends on your bank. Expect 2 to 4 business days total from request to your account. eToro is similar, sometimes slower. I’ve had eToro withdrawals take 5 to 7 days.

Wire transfers are faster than SEPA transfers in my experience. Card refunds are instant on their end but your card company determines when you see the money. Never had an issue with either broker refusing a withdrawal, but processing times do vary by region.

One thing that matters: withdrawal speed isn’t the only factor. Check their minimum withdrawal amounts and fees. Some brokers charge you to withdraw, which eats into your profits. Verify this before you decide, because a fast withdrawal that costs you $25 isn’t great.

I withdrew from AvaTrade last month and it took like 4 days total. Requested on a Tuesday, had the money Friday morning.

I haven’t withdrawn from eToro in a while, but the one time I did it was about a week, which felt slow.

Using bank transfer is probably safer than a card if you’re moving larger amounts. Direct to your account. But yeah, it sometimes takes a bit longer.

eToro was slower honestly. Like a week or so.

I’ve withdrawn from both probably ten times each over the years. AvaTrade is more consistent - usually 3 to 4 business days total. eToro varies more depending on their processing load.

The real factor is your bank. Some banks are slow clearing incoming transfers. So you might request a withdrawal on Monday and have it in your account the next day, or it might take until Friday. That’s not the broker’s fault.

Neither has ever refused my withdrawal or been sketchy about it, which is what matters most to me.

Pro tip: keep small profit amounts in your trading account. Withdraw sizable wins after you confirm they’re actually gains and not unrealized profits. Some newer traders get confused about that and think they’re withdrawing when they’re not. Don’t let that be you.
