Withdrawal support: which brokers actually process them reliably when things get hectic?

I’m getting nervous about withdrawal reliability with IG. I’ve seen some forum posts mentioning delays, especially during volatile market periods when liquidity is tight. I want to understand how their withdrawal support actually works and whether they’re one of the brokers that holds up under pressure or one that slows down.

The reason this matters to me is that I don’t just care about how fast they say withdrawals process on their website. I want to know what actually happens when a lot of traders are withdrawing at the same time during a market stress event. Does their support team have good information, or do they just leave you hanging?

I’m comparing a few brokers and trying to figure out which ones have solid withdrawal infrastructure plus support that can actually help if something goes wrong. Some of these brokers seem to have better processes than others.

Has anyone here tracked IG’s actual withdrawal speed across different market conditions? What was your experience, especially during busy or volatile periods? And did their support help or did they just tell you to wait?

IG withdrawals are solid. I’ve never had delays.

Usually 2-3 business days for bank transfer.

IG’s withdrawal process is standardized and reliable—I’ve never experienced intentional delays. Most withdrawals I’ve processed took 2-3 business days to hit my bank account.

The key distinction: their withdrawal speed is consistent because it’s automated. But their support around withdrawals is where things get spotty. If your withdrawal gets flagged for any reason—unusual amount, first-time destination address, anything—their support takes forever to clear it.

I’ve seen traders wait 5+ days on a flagged withdrawal while support reviews things. During volatile periods, this backlog gets worse because support is handling more urgent trading account issues first.

To minimize this: use a destination bank account you’ve verified with them beforehand. Withdraw smaller amounts more frequently instead of one large sum. And if you withdraw during calm market periods, not during major economic events.

IG itself processes withdrawals fine, but their support’s ability to handle withdrawal issues during market stress is where they fall short compared to some competitors.

I’ve withdrawn from IG a few times and it’s always been smooth. Takes about 2-3 days to show up in my bank account, which is standard.

Their support has been helpful if I had questions about the process. Never had to chase them down about a withdrawal or anything like that.

The one thing I did notice is they ask for verification when you withdraw to a new bank account. That added a day to my first withdrawal, but after that it was fast.

I think IG is pretty reliable for this, honestly.

Withdrawals from IG have been fine for me. No complaints.

I’ve been monitoring this closely over the last couple of years with IG and a few other brokers.

IG’s actual withdrawal processing is reliable—money leaves their system consistently within their stated timeframe. But here’s what I noticed: their support around withdrawal issues doesn’t scale well.

I withdrew during a quiet period and got my money in 2 days. But I watched a trader on another forum mention they had a withdrawal held up for verification during the Fed announcement week, and support took 4 days to respond.

IG’s system is good, but when something goes wrong with a withdrawal, support can’t handle the volume quickly. That’s different from saying their withdrawals are slow—they’re not. It’s that their support infrastructure for withdrawal issues isn’t built for market stress periods.

Compare that to Pepperstone, which I also use. They seem to have better-trained support specifically for withdrawal questions, and they process faster even during volatile times.

For steady traders taking normal withdrawals, IG is fine. For people withdrawing during major events or needing support to clear up an issue quickly, you might want backup options.
