Caught this move from the start and it looked like short covering more than anything else.
Saw the order flow change around Tuesday when all those overleveraged shorts started getting squeezed.
The macro stuff helped but the real fuel was position unwinding. Bitcoin broke through some key resistance levels and triggered stop losses, which pushed everything higher.
I’ve been trading crypto alongside forex for about 3 years now and these rapid moves usually happen when too many people are positioned the same way. Market just needed a catalyst to shake them out.
Dollar weakness probably helped too. When USD drops crypto usually gets a boost as alternative store of value.
Institutional players increased their crypto allocations recently, which boosted the market. Talks of ETF approvals and some positive regulatory signals are also making traders more optimistic. These factors coming together often lead to broad rallies like we saw this week.
Smart money stepped in driving up prices
Fed hints at rate cuts got everyone rotating into risk assets. When traditional yields drop, crypto becomes more attractive since people chase higher returns. Plus China lifted some banking restrictions on digital assets this week. The combination of easier money policy and regulatory clarity usually triggers these moves. Volume was solid too, not just retail FOMO.
