Hi all,
I’ve been doing forex trading for about a year and a half now and have tried several different brokers to find what suits me best. Here’s what I’ve experienced with each one:
- XTB – Their educational content was helpful when I started, but the swap rates were quite high. I remember paying around 3 pips on EUR/GBP during volatile sessions.
- IC Markets – Recently opened an account here and the order fills have been really fast. My trades on USD/JPY were getting filled in under 40ms most of the time according to their stats.
- IG Markets – Really liked their mobile app and the pricing seemed fair, but the financing charges built up quickly. I held a GBP/USD position for about 2 weeks and ended up with £28 in overnight costs which hurt my returns.
- Capital.com – Good for beginners with small position sizes, but their payment processing was unreliable. Last time I tried to withdraw £180, it took almost a week to reach my account.
- AvaTrade – This was my first broker when I started out. The platform was user-friendly but the analysis tools weren’t great, so I switched to something better.
Now I’m searching for a broker I can stick with long term. I need tight spreads, quick withdrawals, and good support team that actually responds when you need help.
What UK forex brokers do you guys think are the best right now? Really interested in hearing from people who trade with bigger position sizes.
OANDA’s been solid for me. Spreads don’t blow out too much during news events and I can usually withdraw same day.
Admiral Markets handles large positions without requotes. Spreads stay decent during volatility and withdrawals usually clear in 24 hours. For execution quality, try Darwinex - nothing fancy but fills are clean and they don’t hunt your stops like other retail brokers. Avoid brokers pushing zero spreads or huge bonuses. Real institutional flow costs money, and legit brokers price it that way.
Saxo Bank’s worth a look if you’re tired of the usual brokers. They handle big positions well and their platform’s solid for analysis.
Spreads aren’t the tightest, but execution stays consistent during volatility. Never had withdrawal issues.
For tight spreads with size, try FP Markets. Their Raw accounts work like Pepperstone but sometimes with better pricing on certain pairs.
I’ve tested tons of UK brokers and stuck with Pepperstone for most trades. Execution’s rock solid and spreads don’t widen much during news.
If you’re trading size, get their Razor account. Commission beats spread markup when you’re moving real volume. Their support actually answers when markets blow up.
I keep a small FXCM account for specific pairs where they crush everyone on price. Withdrawals hit in 1-2 days.
Don’t trust advertised spreads. Test during London open and NFP - that’s when you see who’s got real liquidity.
Open small accounts with 2-3 brokers and trade real money for a month. Demos are useless for checking actual execution.
LMAX beats most brokers for larger position sizes.
