Which trading platforms support crypto day trading for Canadian residents?

Hey everyone! I’m having trouble finding a good trading platform that lets me day trade cryptocurrency from Canada. I’ve been searching everywhere but keep running into roadblocks.

I’m currently with a prop trading company but they limit me to only 1% risk per trade. Even with a decent account size, it’s really hard to make meaningful profits with such tight restrictions. I want to switch to trading my own money but can’t seem to find any brokers that offer crypto day trading to Canadian traders.

I’m specifically looking to trade Bitcoin during market hours with proper leverage and decent position sizes. Has anyone here successfully found a platform that works for Canadians? I’d really appreciate any suggestions or experiences you can share. This has been driving me crazy for weeks now!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Binance worked great until they cracked down on Canadians. Now I’m mostly on Bybit offshore - execution’s fast and leverage blows away domestic options.

For legit choices, NDAX has solid day trading tools and decent spreads during busy hours. API works well for automated stuff too.

That 1% risk limit might actually be saving your ass though. I blew up two accounts learning to day trade Bitcoin in 2019. The volatility looks like easy money until you’re stuck on the wrong side of a 15% swing in two hours.

If you’re set on trading your own money, start tiny and see how your win rate holds up without the prop firm’s safety net.

WealthSimple Crypto or Coinsmart both work for Canadians. Just keep in mind execution can be slower when markets get busy.

Avoid Canadian platforms for serious crypto day trading. Coinsquare and NDAX are okay for small trades, but their spreads widen during volatility. Offshore brokers provide real leverage and better execution, but be cautious about tax reporting on gains. Before leaving prop trading, calculate your actual costs. That 1% risk limit might seem restrictive until you face a 20% drop in minutes. It’s wiser to learn position sizing with the safety of prop funds instead of risking your own money.

Check out Binance and Kraken. Both allow crypto day trading for Canadians. I personally use Kraken without any issues.

Bitbuy works decent for Canadian crypto trading.

Try FTX if it comes back. Good platform.

Interactive Brokers lets Canadians trade Bitcoin futures with decent margin and execution - no weird leverage caps like prop firms have. Their TWS platform works well for futures. Wealthica and Questrade added crypto but they’re too slow for day trading, so skip those. Bitcoin futures track spot price pretty closely when markets are active. You get proper broker protection and can size positions however you want. Commissions are simple. Try their paper trading first to see if you like the platform.

Been trading crypto from Toronto for 3 years. Coinsquare works well for day trading Bitcoin - their Pro platform has solid charts and order types.

BitMEX was my main exchange until they banned Canadians. Now I use OKX with a VPN for higher leverage, though it’s technically sketchy.

For legit Canadian options, Interactive Brokers has Bitcoin futures if you want regulated exposure. Decent margin requirements and clean execution.

About that 1% risk limit - stick with prop trading while building capital. Day trading crypto with your own cash burns accounts fast when you’re starting out.

Newton works for Canadian crypto trading, but their spreads get brutal when markets go crazy. I ditched them for offshore platforms after trying everything local.

Canadian exchanges are fine if you’re swing trading, but day trading crypto? You need tighter spreads and faster fills than domestic platforms can handle.

Prop firm limits suck, but hey - at least you dodge the tax nightmare that comes with crypto gains in personal accounts.
