Looking for advice from experienced traders here. My trading buddy and I want to start a small account challenge with just 20 euros and see how much we can grow it over 12 months. We’re based in Spain so need a broker that accepts EU clients.
I’ve got some trading experience with different markets over the past few years. Started with crypto on various exchanges, moved to stock trading with a major broker, and recently tried forex through prop firms (not my smartest move honestly).
The problem we’re facing is that most brokers either don’t accept such tiny deposits or their fees would destroy our small balance right away. The ones that do accept low minimums usually offer terrible leverage which makes it harder to scale up quickly.
Anyone here done similar challenges in Europe? What broker did you use and how was your experience with low deposit requirements and reasonable fees?
Pepperstone works fine for small amounts. Their razor spreads help when your account is tiny and every pip counts.
Exness works great for tiny deposits. No minimum and solid leverage for EU traders.
I used them for something similar two years ago. Started with 50 euros just testing the waters. Swap rates weren’t bad and withdrawals came through fine.
But real talk - growing 20 euros is insanely hard even when everything goes right. I blew my first attempt trying to be too aggressive. Second time I stuck to 2-3% monthly gains and actually got somewhere.
Set up cashback from day one. Every euro counts when you’re working with peanuts. It’s the difference between slow progress and getting eaten alive by fees.
IC Markets needs 200 euros minimum, but their tight spreads make up for it. You could pool your money to hit that threshold. But honestly, 20 euros won’t get you anywhere meaningful. Commission costs will eat you alive even with micro lots. I’d start with 100-200 euros each if you want real chances. If you’re stuck on 20 euros, just use a demo account first. Practice your strategy without losing actual money.
XM’s been solid for me with tiny deposits - 1 euro minimum and 0.01 micro lots.
Spreads aren’t great, but who cares when you’re starting this small? The low barrier makes it worth it.
Just know that growing 20 euros will take forever no matter what leverage you use. Focus on steady gains instead of trying to double your account every month.
AvaTrade takes tiny deposits and their platform handles these challenges well.
Spreads are wider than ECN brokers, but there’s no commission. When you’re working with 20 euros, paying $5 per lot in fees vs. slightly bigger spreads matters a lot.
Overtrading will kill you with such a small account. Most people wreck these challenges by going too big too early.
FBS takes one dollar deposits and has decent spreads.
