What time does trading actually kick off after the weekend? Sydney session or should I wait for Tokyo?
I watched those Sunday opens for years and learned 5 PM EST is just when the market technically starts.
I used to set alerts and jump in immediately, thinking I’d catch momentum. Lost money on spreads twice the normal size and bizarre price action.
Now Sunday nights are for reviewing weekend news, checking positions, and planning Monday trades. If major news creates big gaps, I’ll sometimes watch for reversals around 8 PM when things calm down.
Most profitable trades happen Monday during London session anyway. Sunday’s better for prep than actual trading.
