MT4 with simple EAs beats fancy platforms every time.
Most UK traders I know stick with MetaTrader 4 or 5 for automation. The EA marketplace is huge and you can find proven systems or code your own. TradingView has decent automation now but limited broker connections in the UK. cTrader works well for algorithmic trading if your broker supports it. Skip the expensive standalone platforms. They promise the world but rarely deliver better results than a solid MT4 EA that costs under 200 quid. Focus on backtesting whatever system you choose with real spread data from your actual broker.
