Been seeing MACD mentioned everywhere but honestly not sure what it’s actually showing me on the charts.
Is it just another momentum thing or does it give different signals than RSI? How do you guys read the crossovers?

MACD compares two moving averages. The histogram shows momentum strength way better than the lines.
I watch for when the histogram starts shrinking before any crossover happens.
The zero line crossover is what matters with MACD. That’s when it flips from negative to positive or back.
I use it more for trend changes than quick entries. MACD above zero? Uptrend’s solid. Below zero? Bears run the show.
Divergences are where the money is. Price hits a higher high but MACD makes a lower high? Weakness is building. This has saved me from brutal reversals on EURUSD.
Don’t bother with 15min or 1hr charts. Too many fake signals. 4hr minimum or you’re wasting time.
MACD tracks momentum and trend direction using two moving averages. When the MACD line crosses above the signal line, you’ve got bullish momentum. Cross below? That’s bearish. RSI shows overbought or oversold conditions, but MACD catches momentum shifts faster. Check the histogram; it tells you how strong that momentum is. Don’t trade MACD crossovers alone. Wait for price to confirm by breaking key support or resistance levels or other important price action. Works best on H4 and daily charts.
