Been trading for a while, but never really dug into price forecasting. Seems like it could give an edge.
Anyone here use it regularly? What methods work best?
Tried some basic trend analysis, but results were hit or miss.

Price forecasting’s a tricky beast. Been doing it for years and still get surprised sometimes.
For me, a combo of Elliott Wave analysis and Fibonacci retracements works pretty well. I map out potential wave counts on higher timeframes, then use Fibs to pinpoint entries on lower ones.
Also keep an eye on key economic releases. They can blow up the best technical forecasts if you’re not careful.
One thing I learned the hard way - don’t get married to your forecasts. Markets change fast. Be ready to admit when you’re wrong and adjust.
And yeah, like others said, solid risk management is crucial. Even the best forecasts fail sometimes.
Price forecasting tries to predict future price movements. It’s not an exact science.
I combine technical indicators, fundamental analysis, and market sentiment to form predictions. But I always use stop losses and proper risk management.
No forecast is guaranteed, so don’t bet the farm on any single prediction.
I just look at charts and gut feelings. Works okay for me.
Price forecasting is educated guesswork, not crystal ball gazing. I’ve seen traders blow accounts chasing perfect predictions.
Focus on probability and risk management instead. Use multiple timeframe analysis to spot trends. Watch key support/resistance levels. Keep an eye on economic calendars for potential market movers.
But here’s the real edge: position sizing and risk control. Even if your forecast is right, poor money management will sink you. Master that first.
Remember, the goal is consistent profitability, not predicting every tick. Don’t overcomplicate it.
I use price forecasting mostly with trend analysis and price patterns. It helps sometimes but is never foolproof.
