What happens to your trading costs if you switch roboforex account types mid-year?

I’ve been on RoboForex for about four months, and I’m starting to wonder if I picked the right account type. I opened with the Standard account thinking it would be a safe choice, but now that I have some real trading data, I’m questioning whether switching to Pro might actually save me money.

Before I make a move, I want to understand what actually happens when you switch account types. Is there any penalty or cost involved? Do you lose your trading history or your accumulated rebates? Does your rebate eligibility reset?

I’m also curious about timing - is there a better or worse time to switch? Should I wait until the end of a month, or does it not really matter?

I know this is probably a logistical question that RoboForex support could answer, but I’d rather hear from people who have actually done this. What was your experience switching between account types?

Switching account types is straightforward - no penalty, no cost. Your trading history stays intact, and rebates continue accruing as normal.

Timing matters slightly. Switch between billing cycles if you want clarity on which month’s rebates come from which account type. RoboForex processes this cleanly either way.

Before switching, verify your current rebate rate with GlobeGain. Sometimes the rebate percentage changes based on account type, and you want to confirm the math makes sense. Request the change through RoboForex support. Usually takes 24 hours to execute.

I switched from Standard to Pro after about three months. No complications at all.

RoboForex processed it quickly, my trading history didn’t change, and rebates kept coming like normal. The transition happened over a weekend, and Monday morning I was trading on Pro with zero issues.

I don’t think timing matters much unless you want to keep track of which rebates belong to which account type for record keeping. But the actual switch itself is hassle-free.

I haven’t switched myself, but I’ve heard from several traders who have and they all said it was painless.

No costs, no lost history, no rebate problems. Just contact support and tell them you want to change. A few hours to a day later, you’re on the new account type.

If you’ve got data showing Pro would save you money, it definitely makes sense to switch. Four months in is a fine time to do it once you actually know your trading pattern.

Switching account types has no cost or penalty. Rebates and history stay intact.

Process takes 24 hours. History and rebates don’t change.
