Real withdrawal experiences: how long does money actually take from AvaTrade vs eToro?

I’m at the point where I want to deposit real money, but I’m nervous about getting it back out. I know it sounds paranoid, but I want to hear from actual traders about withdrawal timelines.

My specific concerns:

  • How many days does it actually take to get your money back from each broker?
  • Have you experienced any delays or complications during the withdrawal process?
  • Does the withdrawal method (bank transfer, card, etc.) change how long it takes?
  • Are there any hidden fees that show up when you withdraw?
  • What happens if your bank rejects the transfer? Do you have to follow up with the broker?

I’m also curious: do the rebates from GlobeGain affect your ability to withdraw? Like, if you’ve earned rebate credits, does that complicate the process?

I’m planning to test both brokers with small amounts first, but I want to understand the withdrawal process before I even deposit. What’s been your actual experience?

Withdrawn from both multiple times. AvaTrade takes about 3-5 business days, usually 4. eToro is faster, usually 2-3 days.

No fees on either—your bank might charge a fee to receive the wire, but that’s on them, not the broker.

Never had complications. Process is straightforward: request withdrawal, enter your banking details, confirm, done. Usually reflects in my account within the timeframe they quote.

Rebates don’t complicate withdrawals. Credits are separate from withdrawable balance. You can keep rebate earnings in your trading account as extra cushion.

Only issue I ever had: submitted a withdrawal to the wrong bank account once. AvaTrade support caught it and canceled the request. That’s actually good—they’re checking.

Start with small amounts like you planned. That’s smart. Once you see it work once, you’ll be confident.

Withdrawal mechanics are identical across most brokers. AvaTrade and eToro both use standard wire transfers, which take 3-5 business days through the banking system.

What determines speed: your bank’s processing time, not the broker. Some banks clear transfers in 24 hours, others take 5+ days. That’s out of the broker’s control.

Rebates are separate. They don’t block withdrawals. Withdraw your trading balance whenever you want. Rebate credits stay in your account and accrue—you can use them to offset trading costs or withdraw them separately.

Hidden fees: none from the broker. Your bank might charge a receiving fee for wire transfers (usually $0-15). They disclose this upfront.

Red flag would be if the broker held your withdrawal pending verification requests after you already verified during signup. Neither of these do that unless something is genuinely suspicious about your account.

Both brokers are reliable with withdrawals. I’ve never waited longer than their stated timeline, and I’ve never had fees surprise me.

AvaTrade is straightforward. eToro is slightly faster. That’s the only difference.

Rebates don’t affect your ability to withdraw at all. Separate bucket of money.

Submit withdrawal, wait the normal banking time, money shows up. Really that simple.

AvaTrade 3-5 days. eToro 2-3 days. No hidden fees. Both reliable.

One thing worth mentioning: if you’re testing both brokers simultaneously, withdraw from each one so you experience the actual process. Don’t just assume it’ll work smoothly—actually see it happen. That builds confidence for larger amounts later.

Also check your bank’s wire transfer settings before you withdraw. Some banks have daily or weekly limits on outgoing transfers. Know your bank’s limits before you deposit large amounts.
