I’m trying to decide between two brokers right now, and one offers MT4 while the other is MT5 only. I know the basics of what’s different between the platforms, but what I really want to know is whether platform stability actually varies between brokers.
Like, if I’m using MT5 on Broker A versus MT5 on Broker B, am I going to get different levels of stability and reliability? Or is it more about my internet connection and computer setup?
I’ve seen some forum posts mentioning that certain brokers handle platform crashes better during volatile market periods, but I’m not sure if that’s real or just coincidence. I’m also concerned about what happens when news events hit - does the platform freeze, do orders get rejected, does the whole system lag?
I want to know: based on peer experiences, which brokers actually deliver stable platform performance, and should I factor this heavily into my broker choice as a beginner?

Some brokers run poor servers and lag gets bad during news. Others maintain solid connections through volatile periods. Same platform, different performance.
Test both brokers with a small demo account during the next major economic event. Watch for disconnections, order delays, or chart freezes. If the demo platform fails during volatility, the real account will too.
MT5 is technically more capable but harder to learn for beginners. MT4 is older and simpler. Pick whichever the better broker uses. Platform choice matters less than broker reliability.
