Looking for Better Trading Platform Recommendations

Hey everyone! I’m currently searching for a reliable trading platform that might be better than what I’m using now. I’ve been testing a few options but keep running into issues. The main problem I face is connection drops right when I’m about to make profitable trades, which makes it impossible to adjust my stop loss properly. This happens even on demo accounts, so I’m worried about what would happen with real money. I really need something with tight spreads for my scalping strategy, preferably zero spread options. Also looking for platforms that make deposits and withdrawals simple and fast. I mainly use MT5 but I’m open to switching to other trading tools if needed. Has anyone found a platform that doesn’t have these connection problems and offers good conditions for active trading?

Switching server locations in MT5 settings helped me a lot. It’s quick and might fix your connection issues.

Those connection drops are the worst. Dealt with that headache on multiple brokers before finding decent ones.

FxPro and XM both kept solid connections during heavy trading. FxPro’s zero spread account worked great for EUR/USD scalping, just watch their commissions on minor pairs.

Deposits are smooth with both - cards and bank transfers come through fast. FxPro does same-day withdrawals if you get it in before 2 PM GMT.

Game changer for me was getting a London VPS. Shaved 20ms off execution and killed most connection problems. Runs about $30/month but worth it when you’re not missing entries from platform crashes.

Stick with MT5 if it’s working for your strategy. Learning new platforms will mess with your timing.

Frequent connection drops usually mean your broker’s infrastructure sucks. Before you jump ship, test different servers with your current broker first. For scalping, I’d go with OANDA or Forex.com - they’re solid and won’t drop you during news events or high-frequency trading. Yeah, their spreads are a bit wider, but reliable execution beats saving a couple pips. Test your connections during London/NY overlap sessions - that’s when you’ll spot infrastructure problems.

Connection drops during trades? That’s usually your VPS or the broker’s crappy servers. Your broker’s probably routing through overloaded infrastructure. For scalping, I’d check out IC Markets or Pepperstone. Both have raw spread accounts starting at 0.0 pips on majors, and their servers don’t crap out during high frequency trading. Don’t fall for the zero spread marketing BS - they just widen spreads on other pairs or jack up commissions. Raw spread accounts with small per-lot commissions give you way better transparency and lower costs overall.

XTB or Interactive Brokers are both solid options for scalping without random disconnections.

XTB offers zero spreads on major pairs and their platform is stable during market hours. While Interactive Brokers has higher costs, their execution speed is unmatched in retail.

Try demo accounts for two weeks during your trading hours to see which works best for your location.

Dukascopy never drops connections during volatile sessions.
