Is IG's customer support actually better than what I'd get with other brokers?

I’m trying to decide if I should stick with IG or look at alternatives, and honestly customer support is a big part of that decision. I want to know if IG’s reputation for support holds up compared to other brokers people here actually use.

The thing is, every broker claims they have the best support. IG talks about their team being available, responsive, etc. But when you’re actually in a situation where you need help—whether it’s a withdrawal issue, platform problem, or verification delay—that’s when you find out if they’re actually reliable.

I’m really curious what the community’s real take is. Have you tried other brokers and switched back to IG because of better support? Or gone the other direction and found someone who actually responds faster and more helpfully? What specific features or response times would actually make you trust a broker’s support system before you fund an account with them?

I’ve tracked this across multiple brokers for clients. IG’s support quality sits in the middle. They’re reliable during normal conditions, but when volatility spikes or withdrawals queue up, response time gets slower.

XTB and Swissquote actually perform better on average response time, but their trading conditions are different. FxPro has stronger execution but their support is slower. It’s about trade-offs.

The metric that actually matters: how fast do they respond to account verification and withdrawal requests? Not general questions, but critical issues. IG gets 24-48 hours usually. FxPro is similar. XTB is typically faster at 12-24 hours.

Don’t judge support on trading question answers. Judge it on whether they solve account problems, handle withdrawals, and respond during market hours when you actually need them.

I’ve used IG, XTB, and FxPro over the years. IG’s support is decent but not exceptional.

What made the difference for me was realizing that the broker’s official support team doesn’t need to be perfect if the community here actually can help you navigate issues. I’ve gotten faster clarity from traders here about withdrawal delays and verification holdups than from sitting on IG’s support queue.

That said, when IG support does respond, they’re usually helpful. They just take their time. XTB was faster on my withdrawal but their platform felt clunkier to me. FxPro had good speed but I didn’t like their spread structure.

I stayed with IG not because their support is the best, but because the combination of execution quality, rebate integration, and this community makes up for the slower response times.

I switched from FxPro to IG a couple years back. FxPro’s support was noticeably faster, but I found that IG’s platform felt more stable for what I trade. Support speed matters less when you’re not encountering problems.

I think the real test is how they handle withdrawals. That’s when you find out if support is actually reliable. With IG, my withdrawals go through smoothly but the confirmation communication could be faster. Nothing broke down in the process though, which is what actually counts.

IG support is okay. XTB is faster from what I’ve seen.

IG middle of pack. XTB faster. FxPro slower but solid.

Never had to contact support much so can’t compare fairly.
