Is exness mt4 and mt5 actually stable during high volatility news?

I’m doing some research on Exness before I commit real money, and one thing that keeps coming up in my searches is whether the platform actually holds up when volatility spikes around major economic announcements or central bank decisions.

I’ve traded with other brokers where the platform would lag or even disconnect during news events, and it’s frustrating because that’s exactly when I want to be able to act fast or exit if needed.

I know Exness offers both MT4 and MT5. Has anyone here actually used both during volatile periods? I’m curious about:

  • Do either platform have connection issues or lag when spreads are widening and volatility is high?
  • Does the platform freeze up or does it stay responsive?
  • Is there a difference between MT4 and MT5 in terms of stability during these events?

I’d rather hear real experiences than marketing language. What’s actually happened when you’ve been trading during news events on Exness?

MT5 is more stable. MT4 disconnects sometimes. Both usually hold.

Both work fine. Spreads widen but platform stays up. Fed days I get slowness once.

I’ve tested both MT4 and MT5 on Exness through several high-impact news days. MT5 is the more recent platform and handles the load better. Orders execute faster and there’s less lag when volatility spikes.

MT4 is still solid but it’s older architecture. During extreme volatility it can feel sluggish. Not a deal-breaker, but noticeably slower than MT5.

Neither platform crashes regularly, but expect order delay during the first 30 seconds after major announcements. That’s normal across all brokers when liquidity drains.

What matters more is your internet connection and your own computer. A slow connection will make any platform feel unstable during volatile times.

Use MT5 if you have the choice. It’s more responsive.

The real test is not just platform stability but order execution quality during these events. A stable platform is useless if your orders are getting filled 50 pips worse than you expected.

Exness generally handles execution okay during news, but like any broker, slippage happens. The spreads widen significantly which is expected, but Exness doesn’t seem to manipulate fills worse than competitors.

MT5 handles the increased order flow better. If you’re planning to trade around news events, MT5 is the smarter choice on Exness.

I’ve been using MT5 on Exness for about 8 months now and I’ve traded through quite a few volatile events. The platform has stayed up every time.

Spreads definitely widen and orders take a bit longer to fill during news, but the platform itself doesn’t crash or disconnect. It’s been reliable in that sense.

MT4 I haven’t used as much, but from what I understand MT5 is just better overall so makes sense to use that version.

Used MT5 during Fed announcements. Platform was fine. Orders were slower but went through.

I trade scalp positions around news events, so platform stability matters a lot for me. I’ve used Exness MT5 through dozens of high-impact news days. The platform stays responsive and doesn’t disconnect.

There’s definitely a spike in order latency during the first 60 seconds after major announcements, but that’s on every broker. It’s a liquidity thing, not a platform problem.

The thing that impressed me is that Exness doesn’t do what some brokers do, which is accept your order but then reject it a second later claiming “no liquidity.” Exness either fills it or tells you the spread is too wide. That’s honest execution.

MT4 I tested briefly and it felt slower. Switched to MT5 and didn’t look back. It’s faster and more reliable.

One thing I learned the hard way: even if the platform is stable, make sure your stop losses and take profits are placed before the news hits. During extremely volatile news, sometimes pending orders get triggered at bad prices before the market settles.

Exness MT5 handles this pretty well compared to other brokers I’ve used, but it’s not perfect. The platform can’t override market reality. So stable infrastructure plus smart position management is the real formula.
