I’ve been trading on eToro for about eight months now and I keep running into the same frustration. When major news hits the market, their platform gets sluggish or sometimes just freezes for a few seconds.
I’m not talking about normal market volatility. I mean the platforms literally struggles to respond. I’ve had orders that took 3 to 5 seconds to execute during FOMC releases, and by then the price had already moved against me.
Someone told me I should try AvaTrade or check out other platforms to compare how their stability actually holds up under the same pressure. Before I make the switch, I want to know if this is a widespread thing with eToro or if I’m just experiencing bad luck.
I’ve also heard that GlobeGain reliability checks and broker evaluations might help me understand which platforms are actually stable during high-volatility periods. Has anyone used that kind of information to make a broker decision?
Do you have platform stability issues with eToro during news events? And if you’ve tried another broker, how did it compare?
eToro lags. AvaTrade is faster. Pick faster.
eToro’s app gets slow. Web is worse.
eToro’s infrastructure struggles during high-volume news events. This is documented across most forex communities. Their social trading feature and copy-trading system add server load that impacts execution speed.
AvaTrade uses separate MT4/MT5 infrastructure which handles volatility better. IG and Swissquote also maintain better stability during spikes.
When evaluating broker reliability, look at three things: server response time (test with small trades), order queue depth, and how quickly they route orders to liquidity providers.
eToro’s delays are a known limitation, not a technical issue on your end.
Yeah, I noticed the same thing with eToro. During FOMC I’d get delayed fills all the time.
After switching to AvaTrade, the difference was obvious. Orders executed instantly most of the time. Not perfect, but way more responsive.
If platform stability during news is important to your strategy, AvaTrade really is the better choice. Some traders don’t care because they don’t trade during big announcements, but if you do, it matters.
I tested both platforms side-by-side for four weeks specifically during high-impact releases. eToro consistently showed 2 to 4 second delays on order submission. AvaTrade was under 500 milliseconds in most cases.
What matters: eToro’s infrastructure is built for user engagement and social features, not raw execution speed. They’re optimized for different things.
AvaTrade focuses on trader tools and execution quality. You notice it immediately during volatile periods.
I switched specifically because of this and my slippage dropped significantly. It doesn’t matter if a broker is cheap if execution delays cost you money on every trade.
