Is deriv worth it for scalping? looking for real pros and cons

Thinking of opening an account with Deriv for scalping. I want to keep this simple and look at spreads, execution time, slippage, and MT5 stability.

If you scalp on Deriv, could you share:

  • typical spread on EURUSD and XAUUSD during London open and New York overlap
  • average execution time for market orders in ms
  • slippage on fast moves, positive or negative
  • any freezes or disconnects on MT5, and how often
  • anything about synthetic indices if you trade them intraday

If you moved from IC Markets, Pepperstone, or similar, how does Deriv compare on fills and spread during news and normal hours?

I will run a small test, but it helps to get real numbers first. What should I expect if I place 1 to 2 lot scalps with tight stops?

EURUSD spread around one pip London and New York.

MT5 stable for me five months no disconnects.

Evaluate three things before you scalp on Deriv. First, record real spreads during your trade window. Log five minute samples at London open, mid session, and New York overlap on EURUSD and XAUUSD. Second, measure execution time. Place small market orders and note time from click to fill. Under 120 ms is workable. Third, track slippage over at least 30 trades. Note positive and negative. Add a platform check. Run MT5 for a week and note freezes, requotes, and disconnects. Compare your total cost to one other broker.

I scalp gold during London and it is fine most days.

Spreads jump on news, so I pause around red events. Execution is okay with a VPS. I would not use very tiny stops.

Good outside news. During CPI and NFP spreads widen a lot.

I tested Deriv for two months with 1 to 2 lot scalps on EURUSD and gold. Average spread was 0.9 to 1.2 on EURUSD and 20 to 25 cents on gold during calm times. London open was fine. New York open had more spikes.

Execution was 80 to 140 ms with a VPS near the server. Slippage was small when I avoided the first minute after news. MT5 did not freeze for me. I would keep stops at least 3 to 5 pips on EURUSD.
