is cloud mining legit or a risky venture?

Been looking at cloud mining contracts lately and the returns seem too good to be true.

Most platforms promise decent monthly payouts but I’m wondering if it’s just another way to lose money. Anyone actually made profit from these services or should I stick to regular trading?

Tried cloud mining back in 2019 with Genesis Mining and HashFlare. Both turned out to be disasters.

Genesis kept reducing payouts when Bitcoin difficulty increased. HashFlare just shut down completely and took everyone’s money. Lost about $2,000 total.

The math never works out in your favor. Even when platforms are legitimate, maintenance fees kill your profits during bear markets. You’re basically betting on crypto prices going up forever.

Stick with forex trading where you actually control your positions. At least when I lose money trading EUR/USD, I know exactly why it happened.

Most cloud mining platforms I’ve seen have hidden fees that eat into those promised returns.

The companies often disappear after collecting payments or change their terms when crypto prices drop. You end up with less control compared to actual trading where you manage your own positions.

If you want crypto exposure, buying directly or trading futures gives you better transparency.

Cloud mining can be tough. I also found it tricky to make consistent profits. Regular trading feels safer.

Cloud mining is mostly risky and untrustworthy.

Run the numbers yourself before believing any cloud mining promises. Take their projected monthly return, subtract equipment depreciation, electricity costs, and platform fees. Most contracts become unprofitable when crypto prices stay flat for a few months. I’ve seen traders lose more on cloud mining than they ever did in forex. At least with currency trading you can cut losses quickly and adjust position sizes. Cloud mining locks you into contracts where someone else controls all the variables.
