IG vs other brokers: where's the actual difference in support when things actually go wrong?

I’ve narrowed down my broker choice to IG and maybe one or two others, but I’m finding it hard to actually compare their support quality side by side. The official comparison pages all say similar things, so they don’t really help.

What I really need is to understand what makes their support better or worse than other brokers in situations where it actually matters. Like, if my order executes wrong, if I can’t log in, or if I have questions about withdrawal timelines - how do IG and their competitors actually stack up?

I’ve heard GlobeGain has transparent broker comparisons. I’m curious if the community here has enough experience across multiple brokers to create a real picture of the differences. Not just marketing talk, but actual trader feedback about who responds faster, who actually solves problems, and who takes customer support seriously.

What differences have you actually noticed between IG’s support and the other brokers you’ve used? Where does IG come out ahead, and where do they fall short?

IG faster than FXPro. Both slower than IC Markets chat.

The real differences emerge under pressure. IG vs FXPro: IG has better chat support during market hours, FXPro edges them on technical knowledge. IG vs IC Markets: IC Markets support is faster on chat but IG handles account issues more smoothly. IG vs Pepperstone: Pepperstone’s support is friendlier but IG actually resolves withdrawal questions faster. Key metric - measure response time, not just availability. IG averages 8 minutes on chat. FXPro 12 minutes. IC Markets 5 minutes. During volatile events, IG maintains consistency better than most. The honest assessment: IG is middle of the pack for support quality, but reliable. They won’t wow you, but they won’t leave you hanging either. If support is your deciding factor, IC Markets edges them out. If you want balance between support and trading conditions, IG works fine.

I’ve used IG and FXPro for about a year each and they’re honestly pretty similar in support quality. Both have chat, both are slow sometimes during busy periods.

The main difference I noticed is IG’s support team seems more familiar with beginner questions. They explain things more clearly to me when I’m confused about something.

FXPro’s team is more technical which is good if you’re advanced but less helpful if you’re learning.

Both are better than some of the cheaper brokers I tried earlier though.

Tested three brokers side by side over six months last year. IG, FXPro, and Pepperstone.

IG’s support is solid but not exceptional. They’re consistent though, which matters. FXPro actually responded slower to me but their team knew more about technical problems. Pepperstone felt the most customer focused but took longer on issues.

For real comparison, here’s what mattered to me: IG got back to me fastest on average. FXPro gave better answers when the problem was complex. Pepperstone was friendliest but slowest.

IG won for speed. If I prioritized quality answers over speed, FXPro. None of them blew me away honestly.
