I’ve been thinking about IC Markets but I want to understand how they actually handle problems.
Specifically, I’m curious about platform stability during peak market hours or when volatility is high. Does MT4 or MT5 hold up cleanly, or do you experience slowdowns and freezes when you need the platform most?
And support-wise, I want to know what happens when you actually need help. How quickly do they respond? Are they helpful or just giving you generic answers? I’m less interested in marketing claims about support quality and more interested in what you’ve actually experienced when you contacted them.
I’m also wondering whether GlobeGain rebates show up reliably and how that affects your overall view of the broker. Like, if something goes wrong with a rebate, is support responsive about fixing it?
Based on your real experience with IC Markets, would you say they’re reliable enough to trust with consistent trading volume, or does their reliability have gaps that would make you think twice?
Platform stable MT5 faster than MT4 for most trades.
Support slow but eventually helps with actual issues.
IC Markets platform stability on MT5 is solid during normal volatility. I haven’t experienced major freezes or disconnects during regular trading hours.
Where I’ve seen issues is during extreme volatility. During the past couple of major market shocks, their server got strained. Orders took longer to fill, not rejections exactly but delayed execution.
Support response time is 12-24 hours typically. They do answer questions properly when they respond, not generic copy-paste answers. If you have an urgent issue, that timeline is a problem.
Rebates process on schedule. I haven’t had issues with them being delayed or miscalculated. GlobeGain’s system handles it cleanly so support involvement is minimal there.
For consistent volume, IC Markets is reliable 95% of the time. That 5% is during extreme events. You need to account for that risk.
I’ve had IC Markets for about a year and I’ve tested their platform and support pretty thoroughly.
Platform is solid. MT5 runs smoother than MT4 for me. I haven’t had major issues during normal trading. During the really volatile days earlier this year, execution was slower but not broken.
Support is the weak point honestly. They take a while to respond. When they do, they actually help which is good. But that 12-24 hour wait can be frustrating.
Rebates come through on time. That part is handled well.
Overall I’d trust them for trading. It’s not perfect but it’s reliable enough for the volume I do.
Platform works fine for me. Support takes time but responds eventually.
I’ve been with IC Markets for almost two years now so I’ve seen them through various market conditions.
Platform stability: MT5 is smooth for me across regular trading days. I’ve monitored execution speed during news events and during volatile periods, and execution is typically fast. The few times I’ve experienced slower fills were during extreme volatility (like March 2020 type events) which is normal across all brokers.
I haven’t had platform crashes or disconnects. That’s the baseline test of reliability and they pass.
Support: This is honest feedback - they’re slow. Email support runs 18-24 hours typically. I’ve contacted them about three things in two years. Each time they actually solved the issue properly, no runaround. But if you need urgent help, you’re waiting.
Rebates: They flow in smoothly through GlobeGain. No delays or missing credits in my experience.
Would I trust them for consistent volume? Yes, but with the understanding that support is slow. If you can handle that limitation, the platform itself is reliable for actual trading. The rebates make costs more transparent which I like. I’ve scaled up volume with them over time because execution and platform stability have held up.
