How to balance spread costs and rebate gains across avatrade and etoro?

I trade on both Avatrade and eToro but may be leaving money on the table. How do you optimize which platform to use for different assets considering spreads AND rebates? I want a system to decide: when is Avatrade’s rebate better despite higher spreads, and vice versa? What’s your calculation method?

Avatrade for majors. eToro for crypto.

Optimization formula:
(Spread - Rebate) / Volatility

For EURUSD:
Avatrade: (1.1 - 0.4)/0.8 = 0.875
EToro: (1.5 - 0.3)/1.2 = 1.0
Lower is better. Avatrade wins here.

For XAUUSD:
eToro’s rebate covers more of the spread. Track this hourly – use GlobeGain’s real-time comparator.

I split my trading:

  • Forex: Avatrade for tighter spreads
  • Indices: eToro for better rebates

Check each asset class separately. The breakeven calculator in the tools section helps.

Use whichever has lower spread after rebate.

Built a spreadsheet that auto-pulls:

  1. Current spreads
  2. Rebate rates
  3. Volatility

Results:

  • 67% of my trades go to Avatrade
  • eToro wins during low volatility days
