I’m trying to gauge platform stability before I move more capital to IC Markets. I’ve heard the reviews say their platforms are solid, but I want to know if MT4 and MT5 actually hold up when the market gets hectic—especially during news events or rapid price movements.
What I’m really asking is: do you experience lag, order rejections, or disconnections during high volatility? And how does that impact your execution and overall trading costs?
I’m running my numbers with GlobeGain rebates factored in, but if platform issues are costing me slippage or missed entries, the rebates won’t cover that damage. So I need honest feedback on whether their platform infrastructure is actually reliable under pressure.
Has anyone here tested their execution reliability during fast-moving conditions? What’s been your actual experience?
Mt5 is stable. No disconnects for me.
Sometimes lags during big moves.
IC Markets uses Equinix servers so connection speeds are generally tight. I’ve been with them through volatile periods and platform stability is solid. MT5 is their better platform—faster execution, fewer glitches. MT4 works fine but feels older. During GBP crosses volatility last month, no disconnects or order rejections. That’s reliable infrastructure.
The platform itself is stable but order routing can slow slightly during extreme volume spikes. I’ve seen maybe a 1-2 second delay on order confirmation during Black Swan type events. That’s not their fault—it’s the market. For normal volatile conditions like Fed days, execution is clean. Platform infrastructure isn’t your risk factor here.
I’ve been on MT5 with IC Markets for the last few months. So far I haven’t had any crashes or disconnection issues. During the volatile week last month, platform stayed responsive. I was able to enter and exit positions without any lag or rejections.
MT4 works too, but I prefer MT5 just because it feels faster. Either way, stability hasn’t been a problem.
Their platform is pretty reliable from what I’ve experienced. I trade during London open and New York open when things get busy, and I haven’t had issues with the platform crashing or slowing down. Order execution is usually quick. No complaints here.
Platforms work fine mostly. Rare lag spikes.
I’ve been trading through IC Markets platforms for over a year now. MT5 is solid—I get order fills in under 100 milliseconds on normal conditions, sometimes slower during major price action but nothing that impacts my strategy. Never had a crash that cost me money. They handle volatility fine.
I’ve tested them specifically during Fed announcements and Brexit updates. Execution quality stayed tight, though spreads obviously widened. But platform-wise, no disconnects, no rejections. They’re one of the more stable brokers I’ve used.
The infrastructure is clearly well-maintained. I don’t trade just IC Markets anymore, I’ve split accounts across three brokers for redundancy. But IC Markets is actually my most stable connection. That matters a lot when you’re trying to hold positions through volatile moves.
