I keep hearing mixed reports about FBS’s MT5 stability when major news hits. Does the community’s volatility toolkit show real-time server uptime or latency metrics? If their platform freezes during entries/exits, even good spreads become irrelevant. Share your experiences from the last 6 months.
Three crashes during NFP this year.
Checked the volatility toolkit’s historical data:
- 92% uptime during high-impact news (Q2 2024)
- Latency spikes to 400ms+ when JPY pairs volatile
Recommend running a VPS closer to their servers if scalping. Their mobile app fails more often than desktop – avoid for key trades.
Had 2 disconnections in April during CPI releases. Support compensated with $50 credit but missed my trade setups. Now I hedge with a second broker during big events. Their normal hours stability is solid though.
MT5 works fine outside news times.
Tracked performance via toolkit alerts:
- 8 platform hiccups logged since January
- All occurred within 15min of news releases
Switched to limit entries during those windows. Execution accuracy improved from 72% to 89%. Their infrastructure isn’t terrible but requires adaptive strategies.
