I’m getting close to funding an account, but I want to understand something important that doesn’t get talked about enough: how reliable are withdrawals actually from each broker?
I’ve read the marketing materials and the reviews, but marketing materials are always optimistic. I need to know from real traders—when you actually request money back from Avatrade versus Etoro, how long does it really take? Are there hidden fees? Does the withdrawal method matter a lot?
I plan to trade with real money, so knowing I can access my profits quickly matters to me. Speed and reliability are both important. I’d rather know the reality than be surprised later.
What’s been your actual experience with getting money out of these platforms? Any surprises or issues I should know about before I choose one?
Withdrew from both multiple times. Avatrade processes faster—usually 2-3 business days to my bank account. Etoro took about 5-7 days most times, sometimes longer during busy periods.
One thing: Avatrade charges a flat 10 dollar fee if you withdraw under 500 dollars. Etoro didn’t have that fee but they seemed slower anyway. I eventually moved most of my trading to Avatrade just because the withdrawal speed was more convenient.
Also matters which payment method you use. Debit card withdrawals were faster than bank transfers on both platforms.
Withdrawal speed depends on three factors: broker processing time, your bank’s processing time, and the method you use. Avatrade typically processes within one business day and transfers to most banks within 2-3 days total. Etoro’s internal processing takes longer, usually 3-5 business days before it even leaves their system.
If you use e-wallets like Skrill or Neteller, both brokers process faster. Bank transfers are slowest. I recommend keeping most of your profits on the trading account and only withdrawing monthly. Reduces fees and you avoid the waiting game.
I haven’t had issues with either platform’s withdrawals. Both took about a week from request to money in my account. The thing that mattered more to me was that they actually processed my requests without asking for extra verification documents.
Etoro did ask for proof of residence once, which added a few days. Avatrade was straightforward. So not just about speed—reliability and hassle-free processing matter too when you want your money.
Avatrade faster than Etoro from what I’ve seen. Both use SEPA so it depends on your bank too.
Avatrade 2-3 days. Etoro 5-7 days. Use e-wallets for faster processing.
Track your withdrawal requests. Document the date you request withdrawal, the date the broker processes it, and the date it hits your account. Over time you’ll see the actual pattern for your specific bank and payment method. This is more useful than generalizations because your bank can add 1-2 days on either end.
