Been looking into HFT but most platforms seem way too complex for someone just starting out.
Anyone know which software actually works well for beginners without requiring a computer science degree to figure out?

I tried getting into HFT about 3 years ago and it was a disaster. Burned through 5k in two months.
The software that claims to be ‘beginner friendly’ is mostly garbage. Tested a few - they either had terrible execution delays or charged ridiculous monthly fees for basic features.
What actually worked for me was starting with simple automated strategies on MT4. Built a basic grid system that actually made consistent profits before moving to anything faster.
If you’re dead set on speed trading, focus on learning proper risk management first. HFT without solid fundamentals is just expensive gambling.
HFT isn’t really beginner friendly and needs serious capital plus low latency setup. Maybe start with regular algo trading first.
This covers the basics if you’re still interested.
HFT burns money fast if you don’t know basics.
Retail HFT software often feels like scalping tools dressed up in fancy marketing. The difference in execution speed isn’t that significant without direct market access.
Start by testing simple automated strategies on your existing broker. It’s wise to focus on consistent profits through basic algorithms before stressing over microsecond timing.
Remember, real HFT needs serious infrastructure that most retail traders simply cannot compete with.
Skip HFT as a beginner. You need millions in capital, direct market access, and infrastructure that costs more than most traders make in years. Start with basic algorithmic trading instead. MetaTrader has simple EA builders, or try platforms like QuantConnect for backtesting strategies. Focus on learning market mechanics first. Most retail HFT software is marketing nonsense. Real HFT firms spend fortunes on custom systems and co-location. Build your foundation with regular trading before considering anything automated.
