I’m trying to figure out which platform to use on FBS and I want real feedback on stability, not just feature lists.
Specifically: Has anyone experienced MT4 crashes, disconnects, or lag on FBS during busy market hours? Same question for MT5. Are there platform-specific issues people have run into? Does one perform better during volatile markets or news events?
I’m also curious about execution quality when the platform is under stress. Do orders slip, or does it hold solid? And if you’ve tested both MT4 and MT5 on FBS, which one felt more reliable for your actual trading?
I know both platforms are generally solid, but every broker implementation is slightly different. I’d rather know what to expect from real traders who use FBS daily instead of guessing.
What’s been your experience with FBS platform stability and execution?
MT4 stable. MT5 slower on execution. Stick with MT4.
Never crashed on FBS. Spreads wide during news though.
FBS MT4 is rock solid. Runs smooth even during peak hours. I’ve tested during major news events—Fed announcements, jobs data—and no issues with disconnects or platform lag.
MT5 on FBS is newer and works fine, but there’s noticeably more processing lag when markets spike. Nothing catastrophic, but if you’re scalping, you’ll feel it.
Execution quality is consistent. Slippage is minimal on FBS, maybe 0.1-0.2 pips on major pairs. Not the tightest, but reliable.
Main thing: FBS MT4 platform is older code but it’s proven stable. The infrastructure works. If you’re switching from another broker, you won’t notice stability issues.
I use MT4 on FBS and I haven’t had any crashes or weird connectivity issues.
Platform runs smooth for me even when EUR/USD is moving fast during news. The order execution feels normal—no noticeable delays.
I haven’t tested MT5 extensively on FBS, so I can’t compare them directly. MT4 is what I’m comfortable with and it works fine.
If you’re used to one platform already, probably not worth switching just for FBS. The stability on both should be similar.
I trade scalping so platform stability matters to me. FBS MT4 is my broker for that strategy.
In about 18 months of using it, zero platform crashes. Disconnects are rare—maybe once or twice when my internet was bad, not FBS’s issue.
Execution is responsive. Orders fill quickly. Slippage is acceptable for a dealing desk broker. Nothing surprising there.
MT5 I tested briefly and it felt similar but i didn’t need the extra features. Went back to MT4 because it’s familiar.
Stability-wise, FBS MT4 performs like most other mainstream brokers. It’s not the absolute tightest execution, but it’s reliable and that matters more for me.
