favorite stock momentum indicator for quick analysis?

Been switching between RSI and MACD but they feel slow for my scalping style.

What momentum indicators do you actually use when you need to make fast decisions? Looking for something that catches moves early without too many false signals.

ROC beats RSI and MACD for scalping hands down. It catches momentum shifts fast without the annoying lag that kills your entries. I use 10 to 14 periods. When it crosses zero, momentum’s switching direction - above zero means up, below means down. Here’s the key: pair it with volume. Strong ROC moves with heavy volume are solid, but ignore weak volume spikes. Skip trades when ROC shows momentum but volume’s dead.

Williams %R beats both for scalping entries.

ATR’s way more useful for momentum than most people think. Everyone just uses it for stops, but I check it before every scalp entry.

When ATR jumps, volatility’s picking up and momentum actually follows through. When it’s flat, even killer signals just die out.

I pair it with basic price breaks - above or below the last 5 candle highs/lows. ATR rising + price breakout = solid momentum signal. Beats waiting around for oscillators to tell you what already happened.

Try the CCI indicator. It’s faster than RSI and gives clearer signals when momentum shifts.

Stochastic’s great for quick momentum reads. It shows when price gets stretched either way.

I pair it with basic price action instead of trusting just one indicator. Keep your setup simple so you can react fast without overthinking.

Most scalpers I know stick to one or two indicators max. Otherwise you’ll freeze up analyzing everything.
