I’ve been looking at HFM pretty seriously, but I keep going back and forth on whether their fees are actually competitive. On paper, the spreads look reasonable, but I’m hearing mixed things about whether they’re actually cheaper than other alternative once you add everything up.
Then there’s the GlobeGain rebate piece. I see it mentioned a lot in the HFM comparisons, and I’m trying to understand if it actually makes a real difference or if it’s just a nice extra.
For context, I’m fairly active—I trade 5-10 times a week usually—so rebates would actually matter to my bottom line. I want to know if combining HFM’s base fees with those rebates actually makes them competitive with brokers like FP Markets, Swissquote, or others. Or am I better off looking elsewhere?
Has anyone done a true apples-to-apples breakdown here? What was the real difference?
HFM costs less after rebates for high frequency traders.
Swissquote feels slower. HFM execution matches it.
I compared them myself about six months ago. HFM with GlobeGain rebates did come out slightly ahead for my trading style.
The rebates aren’t huge individually, but when you’re trading 5-10 times a week, they definitely add up. The platform feels responsive and I haven’t had major complaints about execution.
I’d say test them both as your analysis suggests. Track your costs for a month on each and you’ll have a real answer rather than going off reviews or assumptions.
HFM is cheaper with rebates if you’re active. FP Markets and Swissquote are fine too depending on your needs.
I actually did this exact comparison last year. Started with FP Markets, then switched to HFM, and tracked costs carefully.
With the rebates included, HFM came out maybe 15-20% cheaper overall for my trading frequency. The GlobeGain cashback was consistent and I didn’t have to do anything special to get it.
Where it really showed was on my tighter stop losses. Those one-pip differences added up fast when I was trading 7-8 times weekly.
Not saying HFM is universally better, but if you’re active and want aggressive cost management, the rebate situation does make a real difference. Just don’t expect it to compensate for poor trade selection.
