Does comparing true trading costs with rebates actually change which broker you'd pick as a beginner?

I’m trying to figure out if I should be spending time calculating my actual trading costs including rebates, or if I should just pick a broker with decent spreads and call it done.

I see people talking about how GlobeGain rebates can bring down your effective trading costs, and I wonder if that actually shifts which broker makes sense for a beginner. Like, if Broker A has slightly higher spreads but better rebates, and Broker B has tighter spreads but fewer rebates, how do you actually know which one saves you more money over time?

Also, when you’re starting out with small amounts, does the rebate difference even matter, or is it only relevant once you’re trading more volume?

How many trades did you do before you realized rebates actually added up to something meaningful?

Yes, it changes everything. Calculate your actual cost per lot before you start trading.

True cost equals spread plus commission minus rebate. If Broker A shows a 1.2 pip spread with 0.6 pip rebate, your real cost is 0.6 pips. If Broker B shows 0.8 pips with no rebate, Broker A wins.

This matters from your first trade. Even small trades add up over time. Track your volume for a month, multiply it by the rebate rate, and you’ll see the difference. Starting small is actually perfect for testing which broker actually treats your money right before you commit more capital.

It does matter, but don’t overthink it. Calculate your real cost for a few currency pairs you plan to trade, then compare.

With rebates, the difference becomes obvious once you’ve placed maybe 50-100 trades. Before that, just focus on picking a broker that executes well and doesn’t have weird withdrawal issues.

Once you know how much volume you’re actually trading, rebates start to add up. I tracked mine for three months and it was enough to cover a week of unprofitable trading.

Rebates matter more once you have consistent volume. Do the math but don’t obsess about it yet.

Calculate true cost immediately. Spread plus commission minus rebate.

Small difference per trade. Big difference over hundreds of trades.
