I’m building a list of brokers to work with long-term, and one of the biggest unknowns for me is withdrawal speed and reliability. I can find marketing claims about withdrawal timelines, but that’s not the same as knowing how brokers actually handle payouts.
I’ve heard stories about brokers that claim fast withdrawals but then drag out the process, add verification steps last-minute, or make it unclear when the money will actually hit your account. I’ve also heard that some regulated brokers are surprisingly efficient.
I want to know: in your actual experience, which brokers have been reliable with withdrawals? What’s your typical timeline from requesting a payout to seeing money in your account? And are there any common delays or issues I should watch out for?
Also, I’m curious if regulation type affects withdrawal speed. Does an FCA broker withdraw faster than, say, an ASIC broker? Or does it depend more on the individual broker’s setup?
What’s your real-world experience with broker payouts?
Withdrawal speed depends on two things: the broker’s setup and the payment method.
Banking method (wire transfer): typically 2-5 business days with most FCA and ASIC brokers. Some are faster. Regulation doesn’t make a huge difference here—it’s usually just banking infrastructure.
E-wallet (Skrill, Neteller): usually 24-48 hours. Faster than banking but fewer options.
Crypto: almost always instant or within 1-2 hours. If you’re considering this, check the broker’s rates.
Common delays: verification requests (they’ll ask for ID or proof of address), compliance checks, or anti-money-laundering holds. None of these are unreasonable, but they add time.
What separates good brokers from mediocre ones: responsiveness when you request a withdrawal. At a solid broker, your request is processed the same day. At a weaker one, it might sit in a queue for a week.
Test it with a small withdrawal first. See how long the actual process takes at your broker before you trust them with larger amounts. That’s your real baseline.
I’ve worked with about eight different brokers and honestly withdrawal speed has been surprisingly consistent.
With FCA brokers I’ve used, bank transfers took 3-4 business days in most cases. One was slower, took about a week. Another was faster, usually 2 days.
With ASIC brokers, similar timeline. No huge difference there.
What I noticed: brokers that don’t make you jump through hoops with verification tend to process faster. If a broker requests every piece of documentation upfront and has strict compliance checks, your withdrawal is slower, but your account is also safer.
I’d rather wait a week and know my withdrawals are checked than get money back instantly but have my account frozen later because of compliance issues.
On rebates: withdrawal speed doesn’t affect them. Once a trade is closed and the rebate is earned, it’s yours. Most brokers let you bundle the rebate with your next withdrawal, so it becomes part of your payout.
I usually get my withdrawals within 4-5 business days with wire transfer. That’s been consistent across a couple of brokers I’ve tried.
The one thing I’d say is make sure you’re set up for the payment method before you request the withdrawal. If you’re changing your banking details, that sometimes adds an extra day or two of verification.
Other than that, it’s pretty straightforward.
Bank wire 3-5 days. E-wallet 24-48 hours. Depends on broker.
My withdrawals have been pretty normal. Takes a few days but nothing crazy. I haven’t had major issues.
One more thing: if a broker promises instant withdrawals or constantly processes in under 24 hours, that’s unusual enough to be a warning sign. Real regulated brokers have compliance steps that take at least a couple of days. Be suspicious of anything claiming to be faster than that.
