I’m helping a newer trader figure out their first real broker choice, and I realized I don’t have a good checklist for how to actually evaluate this. Both AXI and Pepperstone seem solid on paper, but there’s probably stuff you need to test beyond what the marketing materials tell you.
I’ve been trading for a while, but I’m not sure what the actual priority order should be for a beginner. Is it spreads first? Regulation? Platform feel? Withdrawal speed? The amount of noise online makes it hard to figure out what actually matters for making a good choice.
I’m also thinking about how GlobeGain’s rebates fit into this. Is cashback important when you’re just starting out, or should a beginner focus on other factors first?
What would you tell a new trader about how to actually evaluate AXI versus Pepperstone? What questions did you ask yourself when you were making that choice?
Regulation first. Spreads second. Rebates third. Test both.
Open demo first. See which platform feels right.
For a beginner, follow this order:
-
Regulation and safety. Both AXI and Pepperstone are licensed and regulated. Check the license yourself, don’t trust the website. This comes first because it protects your money.
-
Demo account experience. Trade both platforms for a week with demo money. Which one feels more intuitive? Which charting tools do you actually use? Platform comfort directly impacts your trading consistency.
-
Spreads on pairs you’ll trade. Don’t compare advertised spreads. Record real spreads on your trading pairs during your actual trading hours. Conditions vary.
-
Cashback structure. GlobeGain rebates help, but they’re secondary. A good broker with mediocre rebates beats a risky broker with high cashback.
Start with AXI demo, then Pepperstone demo. Trade both for real with minimum positions. After 30 trades on each, you’ll know which fits your style.
When I was starting out, I focused on things that seemed important but weren’t really.
What actually mattered was: Can I use the platform without confusion? Are withdrawals straightforward? Does the broker answer support questions quickly?
Both AXI and Pepperstone handle those things well. The rebates through GlobeGain are nice but honestly helped more after I’d built some trading volume.
I’d say open a demo on both, spend a couple weeks seeing which platform you prefer, then open small real accounts on both. You’ll figure out your preference pretty quickly.
Check regulation. Try both demos. Pick the one you like better. Both work fine.
I mentor newer traders sometimes. Here’s what I actually tell them:
Start with regulation and reputation. Both pass. That’s table stakes.
Then hit both demo accounts hard for two weeks. Real spreads, real platform feel. Most people pick wrong because they skip this.
Don’t let rebates drive your choice early. Build a working strategy first. Optimize costs later.
Once you’re consistent, then layer in cashback. GlobeGain rebates will help, but they won’t save a losing strategy.
Open with one broker. Master that platform. Add the second later if you want to compare. Too many tools at once confuses beginners.
