Been trading forex for a while but want to get into stocks too. Market dynamics seem different.
Looking at some online courses but there’s so many options. What actually helped you guys when you made the switch or started with equities?

YouTube channels worked better for me than paid courses. Focus on basics like earnings reports first.
Stock fundamentals beat forex technical analysis every time. Look at company earnings and sector rotation first. Hit up SEC filings and earnings calls before wasting money on courses - most paid programs skip this stuff anyway. Option flow moves stock prices way more than people realize. If you don’t understand gamma squeezes and expiration dates, you’re gonna get burned. Also, market hours mess with volatility big time. Pre-market and after-hours can gap against you hard, unlike forex that runs 24/7.
Made the same switch 3 years ago. Order flow and market structure are completely different from forex.
Skipped expensive courses and went straight to basic books. “How to Make Money in Stocks” by O’Neil was great for breakout patterns. Paper traded for a few months after that.
Following real traders on Twitter helped most - guys who post their actual entries and exits. You see live setups instead of theory. Just avoid anyone trying to sell you something.
Volume analysis took me forever to get. Forex doesn’t really use it, but stocks live and die by volume. Master that before getting fancy with strategies.
Watch your broker fees too. Stock commissions pile up quick when you’re used to commission-free forex.
