Been trading manually for months but want to test some EAs without paying crazy prices upfront.
Anyone know reliable places that actually have decent free expert advisors? Most sites I found look sketchy or want credit card info for “free” downloads.
Try out some basic EAs from the sources shared above. Test them on demo accounts for at least a month each. Most free EAs can be helpful for getting a feel for automated trading, but they won’t replace the skills you gain from manual trading. I still run my best free EA as a backup, even with my own strategy in place.
GitHub’s loaded with free EAs - just search “forex expert advisor” or “MT4 EA”. Tons of developers share their code openly. ForexStation forum’s another solid option with a whole EA section plus user reviews and performance talk. Avoid anything wanting your email or pushing “trial periods” - legit free EAs don’t need your info. Stick with basic moving average or breakout strategies instead of those crazy multi-indicator setups.
I started with free EAs from EarnForex three years ago. No hoops to jump through, and they actually explain how each strategy works.
Check out MT5’s Code Base section too - it’s different from the market area everyone’s talking about. More raw code, but you can see exactly what the EA does before you install it.
Fair warning - I wasted my entire first year tweaking free EAs instead of learning to trade manually. Those simple grid and martingale EAs will wreck your account if you mess up the lot sizes.
