Most traders waste time chasing the perfect indicator instead of focusing on position sizing and risk management. Momentum indicators do work better when you match them to your timeframe though. What works on 4H usually bombs on 15M. Price action still crushes any indicator. I get way better entries from support/resistance levels than waiting around for momentum confirmation. Yeah, I get ditching the classics. RSI and MACD are a nightmare with all those fake breakouts and signals that come way too late.
Rate of Change has been solid for me on those pairs. It spots momentum shifts way before MACD does. I run it at 12 periods on 1H charts - catches moves while they’re still building.
I’ve also been using Williams %R but not at the standard settings. Everyone uses 14 periods, but 21 works way better for EUR/USD trends.
