Been testing different setups on BTC and ETH lately but getting mixed results.
Most of my go-to indicators from forex don’t seem to work the same way with crypto volatility. What’s actually been working for you guys this year?

Volume beats oscillators every time in crypto. On Balance Volume and Volume Price Trend are your best friends here. Crypto’s all about sentiment over technicals, so volume shows you when real money’s moving instead of just market noise. Bollinger Bands are clutch for those crazy swings. Buy when price hits the lower band with heavy volume and sell when it touches the upper band. Stick to simple moving averages on 4-hour charts. You’ll catch the big moves without getting burned by fake signals from shorter timeframes.
Volume and 20 EMA beat everything else I’ve tried.
RSI and MACD still work, but crypto’s so fast that shorter timeframes beat daily charts.
Fibonacci retracements work great for crypto entries this year. The 0.618 level hits way more than in forex - crypto traders follow crowd psychology like clockwork.
RSI divergence + support/resistance zones beats RSI alone every time. Wait for divergence to show up, then jump in when price breaks a clear level.
Game changer for me: switched to 200 EMA on 1-hour charts instead of daily. Crypto moves too fast - daily signals are always late. Price bouncing off 200 EMA with good volume? That’s your entry.
Don’t pile on indicators though. Crypto already throws enough fake signals without adding more noise.
Support and resistance beats moving averages for crypto timing every time.
Price action at key levels tells you everything - way more than indicators ever will. I draw levels on higher timeframes, then zoom in to execute.
ATR’s a game-changer for position sizing since crypto volatility shifts so fast. Most traders skip this, but it’s what keeps you alive when the market goes crazy.
