Been trading gold for a while but my current platform’s analysis tools are pretty basic.
Looking for something with better charting and market depth data. What platforms do you guys use for gold trading that actually have decent analytical features?
cTrader platforms provide Level II data for gold that most retail traders miss. The depth of market displays actual liquidity at each price level. IC Markets runs cTrader with tight gold spreads. You can identify real buyers and sellers, which helps avoid getting trapped in fake breakouts. The built-in analytics on cTrader surpass MT4. You get volume profile, market sentiment indicators, and order flow analysis all in one screen.
XTB has solid gold analysis tools. Their market depth is decent and you can use it without extra software.
ThinkOrSwim for gold charts then execute wherever spreads work.
Interactive Brokers works well for gold analysis if you want professional level data without paying extra fees.
Their Trader Workstation shows real market depth and volume which helps time entries better than most retail platforms. The order book data is especially useful during volatile sessions.
For pure charting I still use TradingView but IB handles the execution side with better fills on gold trades.
TradingView integration with MT4 changed everything for my gold analysis. The charting tools are way more detailed than what you get with basic broker platforms.
I use it with Pepperstone for execution. Their MT4 has solid market depth and the spreads on XAUUSD are competitive. The combination gives me proper volume analysis and better entry timing.
Also tried IG Markets - their platform has good built-in analysis tools if you don’t want to juggle multiple screens. The economic calendar integration helps with those NFP and Fed announcement trades that move gold hard.
Avoid platforms that only show basic candlesticks. Gold needs proper technical analysis with multiple timeframes.
