Been trading gold and oil for a while but my current platform’s spreads are getting worse.
Tried a few different brokers this year but execution keeps disappointing me during volatile sessions.
What’s been working for you guys recently?
IG Markets works well for gold during London hours. Their spreads stay consistent even when things get crazy. This is better than having tight spreads only when the market is dead. For oil, try Saxo Bank. They handle WTI trades around inventory reports without the nasty slippage you get elsewhere. Test both with small positions during your usual trading times before switching over completely.
Try TradeStation for better execution and spreads.
Interactive Brokers is solid for commodities, especially with larger positions. Their commission structure is better than spread-based pricing.
The platform remains stable even during volatile times. I used to experience connection drops with other brokers but that’s not an issue here.
Make sure to check their minimums before applying.
OANDA’s decent for gold but avoid their oil spreads during news events.
