I’m getting closer to picking a RoboForex account type, but I want to understand something that doesn’t get talked about enough - platform stability when things get crazy.
I’ve heard stories about some brokers experiencing slippage, requotes, or even connection issues during major news events when spreads widen. This concerns me because I occasionally hold positions through economic announcements, and I need to know if the account type I choose will actually handle execution properly when volatility spikes.
So here’s what I’m asking: Have you actually traded through major news events on different RoboForex account types? Did you experience slippage, requotes, or platform issues? Does one account type handle the volatility better than others?
I’m not looking for marketing speak - I want real observations about what actually happens to your execution when the market moves fast.
Platform stability during news is actually where account type matters most. ECN accounts typically handle volatility better because they route directly to liquidity providers. You get wider spreads during news but fewer requotes.
Pro accounts sit in the middle. Standard can suffer because RoboForex absorbs the risk and sometimes requotes during extreme volatility.
I’ve held through Fed announcements on all three. ECN gave the fastest execution and zero requotes. Pro was acceptable. Standard experienced 2-3 requotes during major news. Test this yourself with small positions on your preferred account type during the next economic calendar event.
Tested this during the last FOMC announcement. I had positions on Pro account.
The spread widened from about 0.8 pips to 2.2 pips, which was expected. But execution was clean - no requotes, no connection drops. The platform stayed responsive the entire time. My stop loss triggered exactly where I set it.
I know ECN handles news better theoretically, but for swing trading the Pro account has been totally fine through volatility. The key is having tight risk management so the wider spread during news doesn’t destroy your position. That matters more than which account type you pick.
I’ve held through a few news events on the Pro account, and honestly stability has been decent. The spreads definitely spike, but the platform doesn’t glitch or disconnect.
I can’t compare to ECN since I haven’t tested that, but Standard seems fine too from what I’ve heard in the community. The bigger factor is having your stop losses set properly so you’re protected if things move fast.
RoboForex overall seems stable during volatility. I’d worry more about your own risk management than the account type’s ability to handle news.
ECN best for news execution. Pro is acceptable for swing traders.
Spreads spike during news but platform stays stable.
