If you could only trade one asset class for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?

Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking about this hypothetical scenario lately and it’s actually making me question my current approach to trading.

If someone told you that you could only pick ONE asset class to trade for the rest of your trading career - whether that’s forex, stocks, commodities, crypto, bonds, futures, whatever - which one would you choose?

I’m curious about your reasoning too. Is it because you understand that market better? Better profit potential? More predictable patterns? Less volatility? Or maybe you just enjoy the community around that particular asset class?

For me, I’m torn between forex and stocks right now. Forex has that 24/5 market access which I love, but individual stocks can have those amazing growth stories that really pay off long term.

What would be your pick and what’s the main reason behind your choice? Would love to hear different perspectives on this!

Forex is my choice. The liquidity is great, and it means you’re not stuck in a position. Leverage allows you to size your trades according to your account and risk appetite. What really appeals to me is how major pairs often follow technical patterns better than stocks, which can gap on unexpected news.

Stocks for me. Individual companies can 10x over time which forex pairs never do.

Forex is the clear choice. It offers high liquidity, which leads to reliable fills and narrow spreads on major pairs. Price movements are based on real factors such as interest rates and economic indicators. By concentrating on 8 to 10 pairs, I gain a deep understanding of their behavior. There’s no worry about unexpected earnings reports or company issues. Plus, the market operates almost 24/5, allowing me to act on trading opportunities as they arise.

Commodities since they react to supply and demand.
