Set a daily trade limit and stick to it. I max out at 3 trades per day - once I hit that number, I close the platform and walk away. Keep a trading journal with screenshots of setups you passed on and review it weekly. You’ll see most rushed trades lose money while the setups you waited for actually work. Find something else to do during slow periods. I’ll analyze other pairs or review past trades instead of staring at charts hunting for action that isn’t there.
Same issue here for years. Fixed it by tracking every trade and rating each setup 1-10 before entering.
After three months, the data was eye-opening. My 8+ setups hit 70% win rate. Anything under 6? Pure gambling and money down the drain.
Now I won’t hit buy unless I can explain why it’s at least a 7. Takes 30 seconds but kills those impulse trades.
Switched to weekly profit targets instead of daily ones too. Some days have zero good setups. Hit my weekly goal early? I can wait for the next solid play without FOMO kicking in.
