I keep seeing comments online about FP Markets having slower withdrawals and I’m trying to figure out if this is actually a regulation thing or if it’s just how they run their operation.
Like, does ASIC regulation mean they have specific withdrawal timelines they need to follow? Or is that entirely up to the broker’s own infrastructure and processing speeds?
I’m asking because I trade fairly often and I need to be able to move money reasonably fast. If there’s a pattern of slow payouts I want to know before I commit to them. But I also don’t want to dismiss them if delays are just general industry standards.
Does anyone here actually withdraw regularly from FP Markets? How long does it typically take and did you check whether their withdrawal process is tied to regulatory requirements or just their own systems?
Regulatory bodies don’t mandate specific withdrawal timelines. That’s entirely broker discretion.
ASIC requires funds to be processed without unnecessary delay, but doesn’t specify exact days. Most established brokers clear withdrawals within 1-3 business days because it’s in their interest to show liquidity and reliability.
If FP Markets has withdrawal delays, it’s either their processing setup, banking relationships, or genuinely problematic practices. Test with a small withdrawal first. Pay attention to the exact timeline they quote versus actual delivery. That tells you whether their system is just slow or whether something is off.
Check their stated timeline compare to actual speed bank dependent too.
I withdrew from FP Markets twice and both times it was pretty standard. Took about 2 business days to hit my account.
I think some of the withdrawal complaints you see online might be from people using slower payment methods or having issues with their bank. That’s not necessarily FP Markets’ fault.
Before you open an account, check what withdrawal methods they offer. Faster methods like wire transfer usually process quicker than credit card refunds. That can make a real difference in speed.
My withdrawals were normal timing. Maybe depends on payment method chosen.
Regulation doesn’t actually dictate withdrawal speed so that’s entirely on FP Markets’ infrastructure and banking setup.
I’ve withdrawn from them several times. Fastest was 24 hours, slowest was 4 business days. Speed depended on the method - wire transfer was fastest, card refund was slower.
Comparable brokers I use are similar timing. If you see consistent complaints about FP Markets specifically being much slower than others, that’s worth investigating directly with them. But from what I’ve experienced the withdrawal process is normal. Not the fastest but not unreasonable either.
