Been thinking about this after hitting 6 losses straight last week. Made me wonder if other traders have a hard rule about when to step away.
What’s your limit before you call it and take some time off?

I usually take a break after four losses in a row. At that point, my focus tends to slip and I need some time to reset. Even a short break can help bring back my clarity before I start trading again.
Five straight losses and I’m done for the day. Usually means I’m forcing trades or the market’s moving weird.
I do things differently than most traders here. Instead of counting losses, I track daily drawdown.
Down 2% for the day? I’m done trading. Could be 2 trades, could be 8 - doesn’t matter.
You might take 6 small losses but still end up green thanks to one solid winner. Or 3 bad trades can blow up your account if your position sizing sucks.
Loss count means nothing. What you’re actually losing is what matters.
After seven losses I stop for the week.
Three losses in a row and I’m out. Not being emotional - my read’s just off today. Market conditions shifted or my strategy isn’t working with this volatility. I’ll review what happened and try again tomorrow. Sometimes walking away is the best move.
