Choosing a RoboForex account type as a beginner: what actually matters when you're just starting?

I’m pretty new to forex trading and I’ve been researching RoboForex. I found their account types breakdown but honestly it’s a bit overwhelming. Standard, Pro, ECN - they all promise different things and I’m not sure what actually matters when you’re starting out with a smaller deposit.

I keep seeing people talk about spreads and commissions, and I understand those cost money, but I also want to make sure I’m not overthinking this. As a beginner, am I better off starting with the simplest account type and upgrading later? Or should I pick one based on how I think I’ll be trading?

I’m also curious if rebates actually help beginners or if they’re only worthwhile when you’re trading higher volumes. Like, are the rebates from GlobeGain going to make a real difference for me if I’m starting with something like 1-2 trades per week?

What did you choose when you were starting out, and would you do it the same way now?

Start with Standard account. Beginner focus should be on learning execution, not saving 0.1 pips.

You’ll make mistakes. You’ll hold losing positions. You’ll overtrade or undertrade. Those issues cost way more than spread differences. Standard account spreads are tight enough for learning.

Trade it for two months with real money. After you see your actual behavior - volume, hold times, pairs you prefer - then decide if Pro or ECN makes sense. Rebates help at any volume but they’re background noise when you’re learning. Execution quality and platform stability matter more.

Started with Standard and still use it honestly. For a beginner doing 1-2 trades weekly, the account type difference is really small.

What mattered more to me was having a clean platform, understanding the order types, and not worrying about costs while I was learning. The rebates are nice but at low volumes they’re maybe a few dollars per month.

I’d say pick Standard, trade for a few months, track your actual volume and costs, then decide if you want to switch. No need to optimize something when you’re still figuring out the basics.

For new traders, Standard is the right choice. Here’s why:

You don’t know your actual trading pattern yet. Recommending Pro or ECN to a beginner often backfires because they commit too early before understanding their real needs.

Spend two months on Standard. Track every trade - entry, exit, hold time, pair, result. After two months you’ll know if you’re a scalper, day trader, or swing trader. Then the account type choice becomes obvious.

Rebates help beginners too, but the psychological benefit of not worrying about costs while learning is worth more than the tiny cashback amounts at low volume.

Standard account is fine for beginners. Learn first, optimize later. Rebates matter more when you’re trading consistently.

Standard for beginners. Switch later when you know your style.
