Beginner here - is FBS actually a good first broker or should I look elsewhere?

I’m brand new to forex and I’ve been looking at different brokers to open my first live account. FBS keeps showing up in comparisons and some people recommend it for beginners, but I want to make sure I’m making a smart choice with my actual money.

What I’m worried about is picking a broker that sounds good but turns out to have hidden fees, slow withdrawals, or bad customer support. I also want to know if FBS is easy enough for someone who’s never traded before.

I’ve read a bit about GlobeGain rebates and it sounds like that could help stretch my small trading account further, which appeals to me. But I’m not sure if rebates should even be a factor when I’m just starting out.

For beginners, what actually matters most when you’re picking a broker? Should I focus on low spreads, easy platform, good support, or something else? And if you’ve started trading on FBS as a beginner, what was your experience like? Would you pick it again or would you go with something different?

For beginners, focus on three things: platform ease, withdrawal reliability, and customer support quality. Spreads and rebates come later.

FBS offers MT4 and MT5, which are industry standard and easy to learn. That’s good for beginners. The withdrawal process is straightforward, which matters because you’ll want to test pulling money out early.

Support is decent, though response times vary. Test them with a question before funding.

Start small. Open a real account but trade micro lots. You’ll learn position sizing, risk management, and order execution without destroying your account. GlobeGain rebates help offset costs but don’t factor them into your initial decision.

After three months of consistent trading, rebates become useful. Right now, focus on not losing money and understanding how markets work.

FBS is fine for beginners. I helped my sister get started on it last year and it went smoothly.

The platform is straightforward, which matters when you’re learning. No weird quirks or confusing features. Just MT4 or MT5, which you’ll see on most brokers anyway.

What actually helped her was opening a demo first and just trading for a couple weeks without real money. Removed the pressure of losing cash while she figured out how to place orders and understand what was happening.

When she switched to real money, she started with 100 dollars and traded super small. That’s the move for beginners. You learn fast and your losses are manageable if you mess up.

Rebates aren’t something beginners should think about. Just pick a reliable broker, learn the platform, and trade consistently. After a few months you’ll understand your style and then rebates become worth optimizing for.

Start with demo account first.

FBS is actually pretty beginner friendly. The platform is simple and the spreads are reasonable for learning.

My advice is to start with a demo account. You get a feel for how everything works without risking real money. Once you’re comfortable, open a live micro account and trade very small. That’s the safest way to start.

Don’t worry about rebates yet. Just focus on understanding how to place trades, manage your account, and not blow up your capital. After you’ve traded for a while and figured out if this is actually something you want to do long term, then you can start optimizing for things like rebates.

FBS is solid for beginners because it’s straightforward and doesn’t have a lot of extra complexity that confuses people new to trading.

FBS works for beginners. Start with demo money then trade very small.

Trade micro lots when you go live.
